Eco-Somatic Practice in Felt Thinking Methodology

During the first phase of the course, you will be introduced to the Felt Thinking methodology developed by Dr Anna Dako. Felt Thinking is a body-based way of working with movement in somatic experience of the Self. It is a deep self-inquiry journey which brings the lived connections between Nature and the Self to the fore and which offers new insights to how we are in the world and how to remedy multiple imbalances.

Phase one of the course is comprised of either two seasons of the 12 Walks to Wellbeing (24 walks in total) or 24 audio guided walking sessions which you can undertake in your local area. This phase of the course will take approximately one year to complete.

The walks (both in-person and via the audio guides) will focus upon:

- Proprioceptive and interoceptive sensitivity and conscious movement

- Dialogical processes in relation to feeling, sensation, imagination, and functional movement

- Explorations into the inner landscape of the body through sensory awareness and meditative movement practice

- Skills of interoceptive and exteroceptive listening that support sensory homeostasis

- Being in the moment with reflexive voicing of the experience as a form of self-therapy

Through contemplating movement you will be able to develop your kinaesthetic and proprioceptive awareness, embodied presence and create a very open attitude toward listening, receiving, and being with whatever is, internally, externally, always transitioning. Whilst being rooted in your inner sensing and visceral phenomena, you will nonetheless learn how to access your sensual apparatus and how stay attuned and responsive to external stimuli from the space and landscape all around you.

During the walks (both in-person and those which are audio guided) you will get to know about the three steps of experiential immersion as the creative methodology of Felt Thinking and how to keep discovering different entry points into ecological connectivity in movement and reflection. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to learn how to give he experience its voice and build a creative dialogue with the landscape’s distinctive qualities and the environmentally inclusive ‘whole self’.
