List of Titles (with Descriptions)

Walk No. 1

Title: Sensual Listening and Connective Presence

Description: On this first walk of the series you will be introduced to the grounding concepts of sensual listening and connective presence, which will be practiced throughout the season. You will be invited into experiencing different walk tempos and grow awareness of how you meet the ground with every, meaningful step. A gentle connection between the air you breathe and how you perceive your inner spaciousness will also be attended to. The walk rounds up with an open invitation to reflect in your own, preferred format of expression, and which marks your personal starting point on your walking journey.

Walk No. 2

Title: Movement Patterns, Perceptual Habits and Attitudes

Description: On this walk you will be invited to start building your personal relationship to a place and the landscapes you encounter. We will focus on the weaving dynamic between the patterns in your movement, observable in your ongoing reflection, your habits of perception, and your attitudes. You will discover how flexible your attitude toward yourself and toward the place you experience can really be, and that your body movement is part of how you notice things, and how you mind them.

Walk No. 3

Title: On Complexities of Walking - Becoming Vertical (Part 1)

Description: Reconnecting with the unifying qualities of water and its living presence within our spinal organisation will be the main theme of this walk. You will be able to rediscover the dimensionality of movement in the connection to the element of water and play about with how imaginary pouring the contents from one body part to another and following the cellular development on its evolutionary paths can support your primal belonging to your liquid core. Becoming vertical does include trusting the ground!

Walk No. 4

Title: On Complexities of Walking - Becoming Vertical (part 2)

Description: Evolutionarily speaking, becoming vertical is the most complex of moving ways, while we think we are just walking, right? On this walk we will pay attention to the many planes we are being supported by in bipedal stance, both vertical and horizontal. We will feel into the curves of our reactive spine and open to its undulating adjustments we make all the time. We will also feel into the grounding experience of growing roots, imaginatively, and letting that experience transform onto new movement motivations.

Walk No. 5

Title: Tuning into the Rhythms of the Earth

Description: This time we are going to become more and more comfortable with perspectival sensing into our relationship with the living earth. We will be sensing into the smallest cells while staying with the primal dynamics of germ formation, but we will also learn how to tune into the larger rhythms of the earth that permeate land, water and atmosphere. This will truly be a big journey in shifting perspectives, a journey you can definitely attend to more than once. We will also need to remember to make comfortable steps with it, one step at a time.

Walk No. 6

Title: On Experience of Air, Earth and Water within the Nervous System

Description: On today’s walk, supported by the rhythms of the air, earth and the watery systems we will be tapping into the deeper understanding of the nervous system, and its primal exchange between the sensory and motor neurons, the central and the peripheral exchange in movement and function. Feeling into the complexity of the cranial cavity with gentle touch and self-massage will also facilitate further connections within the nervous system and its openness to the external stimuli. We will be discovering that stepping out of our habitual reaction is an ongoing part of the work with self-awareness.

Walk No. 7

Title: Into the Gut Body

Description: We know that our breath in awareness can take us places and help us explore the living sensations within and awaken dormant connections between different systems of the body. Today, we are going to glide deeper with the breath to explore what it means to discover some grounding trust for movement and spontaneous exchange. Continuing on our explorations into the nervous system, our focus today is to arrive at what feels right deep within, and how the gentle hints of out gut feelings can be invited to meet our actions.
